Shona Kennedy
Occupational Therapist
Hello, I’m Shona—Occupational Therapist, specialising in home adaptations and meaningful occupations for adults and older adults living with physical or mental health challenges.
I have over 14 years experience as a registered Occupational Therapist working within Social Services, the NHS and with charities. I work with individuals facing a wide range of conditions helping them stay safe, independent, and engaged in the activities that matter most. I believe every person deserves to live with dignity and purpose.
My approach is holistic and person-centred. I carry out detailed assessments to understand not just the physical layout of a home, but how it supports (or hinders) someone’s daily life. From recommending adaptive equipment and minor modifications to collaborating on larger-scale renovations, I ensure that every change is tailored to the individual’s goals, routines, and wellbeing.
I also support clients in rediscovering meaningful occupations—those everyday tasks and hobbies that bring joy, structure, and identity. Whether it's gardening, preparing meals, or reconnecting with creative occupations, I help people adapt their environments and routines so they can continue doing what they love.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and exploring the beautiful Dumfries & Galloway countryside.
If you or a loved one are navigating life with new challenges, I’d be honoured to help make your home—and your daily life—work better for you.
